This site is located in Uppal, Hyderabad with site area of 10,000 sq ft. Our main purpose for this project was to incorporate climatic conditions in the design to enhance the functionality of the structure.

This site is a west facing plot and is designed with vastu compliance. Our design process included consideration of sun directions which in turn shaped the plan. The outdoor area and green spaces were placed in North and North-East area to pull more North light but less heat. A double height area is planned as a living space towards North-East that overlooks the internal green space. A jali wall is placed on the West side of the building running from the first to the top floor.

On the South-West side, cavity wall is built which acts as an air barrier and reduces the load on air conditioning.

The planning is done as such where in all the services like electrical room, servants quarters are on the stilt floor and upper floors occupy private living spaces. One of the attention seeking features is the metal staircase near the main entrance that directly connects to the first floor and acts as an architectural and functional element simultaneously.
